Friday July 15, 2011 I will be a Guest at the Quilt Guild of Greater Houston. I will be sharing about my Quilt Pattern Business, Boulder Creek Designs that began in 2005. Since I spent most of my life living in California near the San Bernardino Mountains I fell in love with the North Woods style. Our Quilt Patterns reflect a North Woods flair and more. Cliffsbear© is our main character. He is a lovable little Bear with an adventurous spirit. You will also find Matty Moose© a playful character who will steal your heart. Surprises await the two as each join themselves in Marriage and team up for family vacations.
For this meeting only, they will be meeting at the Christ Memorial Lutheran Church at 14200 Memorial Drive at 10:00 in the Morning. If you are in the area come on out and meet me.
Here's a hint about our new quilt: "One Christ-Moose Eve"??

Fall Quilt Market and Festival
Oh My, how time flies. I just sent off my Exhibitor's Contract for Fall Quilt Market and Festival here in Houston. It's only June and I should be finishing up my Fall line. But of course, if you know me, I am a bit behind. It is very difficult to have two passions. One is my full time day job as a Hairdresser and the other as a Quilt Pattern Designer. If only Mom were here to give me some Motherly advice on how to "Use my Time Wisely." In the meantime take a look at our newest quilt, "Matty Takes a Wife!"

The black fabric is Fairy Frost. If only you could see the sparkles on this quit. The Trees are overlaid with Sparkly Netting. The Moon is covered with Bridal Veil with sparkles. What a Wedding!!

Quilters Club of America
Today I joined "Quilters Club of America" designed by quilters for quiters. Jodie Davis is the Chief Quilting Enabler and there is definitely a Fons and Porter Flare. A few years ago my Quilter Friend, Cindee Ferris (a very talented long arm quilter http://www.cindeeferris.com/ ) and I used to joke about being the new Fons and Porter team of Kleinhans and Ferris. Doesn't quite roll off the tongue like Fons and Porter. Oh well, we will just stick to the names we have and wander through the quilt world with Cliffsbear and Matty Moose. To join Quilter's Club of America go to http://www.quiltersclubofamerica.com/
There are lots to see and learn: Show and Tell, Community Blog, Video Tips, Quilters Recipes, and much, much more.

Sulky of America
Each year Sulky of America offers Teacher's Training Classes across the United States. There are Nine projects, each with several techniques, to show teachers how to use all of the Sulky Products. This year I am happy to announce they have chosen my new Pillow Quilt Pattern as one of the projects. All my proceeds for this pattern go to Home of Hope-Texas. The Home of Hope-Texas will provide help, training and long-term rehabilitation for those victimized by sex trafficking, and restore freedom and dignity to their lives. A worthy project if you are looking for a place to donate: http://www.homeofhopetexas.com/
Here's what Sulky of America said about our Pillow Quilt:
PILLOW QUILT FOR A CAUSE
We found this adorable Pillow/Quilt at the Houston International Quilt Market in the Boulder Creek Designs booth. Diane Kleinhans designed this simple pattern with 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the patterns going to the "Home of Hope-Texas". This is a home that will house girls and women rescued from Human Trafficking. It's real and it's happening in her city and probably yours.

Patchworks
I love quilts with a North Woods Flair. It's like comfort food...mashed potatoes and gravy, yeast rolls --- At Boulder Creek Designs, our patterns have that flair. Take a look and tell me what you think.
Our Quilts are in the top left corner. Christmas in the Woods Tree skirt and stockings; Cliffsbear Mantle Cover; Raggedy Runner and Mats with the Log Cabin Placemat in the left corner; and the Cliffsbear Table Runner.
Here is Lost in the Woods with the white Cliffsbear and Bear Hunt with Bear Paw Blocks and the Medium Cliffsbear.
The Quilts are on display as part of my Trunk Show at Patchworks in Bear Bear City, California. Drop by if you are in the area. They will be there just a couple more weeks. Photos compliments of my friend Cindee Ferris. For more information go to our website: http://www.bouldercreekdesigns.com/

February Sweet February!
I Love February!! My Husband was born on the 7th, our Granddaughter, Lauren on the 8th, and my Dad will be eighty-three on the 9th. You know that old joke....why is eight afraid of seven? Because seven ate nine!! Sorry couldn't resist. Our Grandson, Jacob has a Birthday on the 23th. February is always a full month. My son turns forty this year on the 20th, it cannot be possible. Just yesterday he would lay his head on my lap and ask me to rub his head. Oh my, where has the time gone? I am thankful for our Children and our Grandchildren. Did I mention the Great-Granddaughter arriving in May. Our quiver is full to over flowing. I am a Blessed Woman!
