Thanksgiving Morn

Ahhh! Thanksgiving!  It doesn't matter how old I get, waking on Thanksgiving Morning takes me back to when I was a girl. Smelling the house with heavenly scents as we awoke.  The kitchen was buzzing preparing enough food to feed an army (our Family and Friends).   We had  turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy.  My Mom made the best gravy.  Sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, fruit salad, cranberry sauce, black olives and bread & butter pickles.  I'm not sure why the pickles...  Rutabagas were a part of our meal also...yuk yuk!  My parents loved them but us kids tried to swallow them whole while holding our noses.  Memories of Mom in her apron and Dad carving the bird with me beside him to help of course.  Such wonderful memories.
My Mom is helping in the kitchen of Heaven these days and Dad is still wanting to carve the bird here on earth, yet there is so much to be Thankful for.  First, the Blood of Jesus that was shed for my sins.  I am New and Forgiven of all.  This Fresh Feeling of Cleanliness is so wonderful and at times overwhelming.  The price He paid for me....His Grace truly is Amazing.  I am Thankful our children and their children are healthy and strong.  We are Blessed!  I am Thankful for all my friends who love me and encourage me to become everything God has made me.  I am Thankful I live in America with all its ups and downs we still are One Nation Under God.  So, today, I count my Blessings and say I am Blessed!!

First Wednesday off...

This is the first Wednesday I have had off in 35 years of being a Hairdresser.  Wow!!  I'm not sure what to do with myself.  I have great plans to clean my office and try to control the mounding paper work that is swallowing me up and change the furniture around and........  Instead I researched and bought a printer, started this Blog and made lunch for my husband.  I truly am a work in progress.  Oh well, there is always tomorrow.
